Episode Transcript
[00:00:01] Hi, everyone. This is Dawn Klem, and you are on my podcast, Milkweed and Monarchs. Happy New Year, everyone.
[00:00:09] This is. This is just going to be a brief update on the status of my podcast. First of all, if you can even imagine this, I'm going into my third year of podcasting, which seems to me quite unbelievable.
[00:00:26] I mean, I go back and I listen to the beginning episodes, and I think to myself, oh, dear Lord.
[00:00:33] But, you know, I got better with time. I'm still not perfect. I listen to podcasts all the time, and I think, ugh, I don't know if I'll ever get to that point, but I am enjoying telling you the stories of my life and people that impacted me along the way, which many times includes the patients that I've been able to take care of. It was a complete privilege and honor to care for most of the patients that I have taken care of over the 40 years of my time in health care.
[00:01:10] So I have been averaging about 33 episodes a year, and it'll probably stay on that track. It might get to more.
[00:01:19] We put. Actually put a calendar together this year, so we'll be doing every other Saturday.
[00:01:26] And I actually sent appointments to my husband, who is the one that helps me post them.
[00:01:33] So I'm pretty sure we're going to be more organized this year, finally.
[00:01:37] And so it will be a lot more consistent. And you can expect on every other Saturday for the podcast to come out.
[00:01:50] And then when I get done telling what I think covers the bulk of what I want to say about my life and my patients and the people that have impacted me, I'm no longer going to do the podcast. I'm thinking that's probably going to be in about two more years.
[00:02:13] And when I get done with the podcast, then what I'm going to be doing is actually compiling all the stories in an organized fashion, and that will actually come out in a book form.
[00:02:28] It will be a book, but I'll also try to see if I can do books on tape for those of you that enjoy listening to me, which I really don't know why. I have been teased about my voice my whole entire life, and I know it's kind of nasally, and I do sound like a foghorn, and if I'm agitated, it goes up about 10 decibels, which is never a good thing.
[00:02:56] So I appreciate you actually enjoying listening, listening to me, because I know just when I listen back myself, I think, oh, my Lord, I have this many people listening to this nasally voice. This is crazy.
[00:03:11] So this is a big thank you to all of you. I have close to 4,000 listeners now. I really don't know how that even happened.
[00:03:21] It seems to be a good, good population, though, and I'm kind of happy about it. I'm not unhappy with it. I don't do very much marketing at so the fact that people are listening makes me feel good that at least they think I have stories to tell.
[00:03:42] And some of the feedback that has come back to me just fills up my heart and lets me know that people are listening and they're thinking about the stories that I've told and the life that I have lived.
[00:03:58] Hair on this wonderful earth. We're very, very lucky for that, even though there's so many trials and tribulations.
[00:04:07] So once again, happy New Year. Thank you so much for taking the time to listen to my podcast. They'll be on a set schedule. Finally, a calendar has been devised and they will be coming out every other Saturday.
[00:04:25] And if you have any questions or concerns along the way or any feedback that you would like to share with me, you can send it to milkman.com M I L K M O N.com or you can send it to my personal email, which is D k L E m the number one t dot net and I would be happy to respond to all of you.
[00:04:51] Thank you again. You really appreciate it.
